Summary: Tyki never joined the Earl and Allen joined the Order. Together, they formed an alliance to take the Earl down. However, as new obstacles stand in their path, would they all of which they worked hard for? Will they join those they were meant to be with? And more importantly, will they lose what's most precious; their friendship?
Sometimes, Tyki had to wonder what the hell possessed him to form an alliance with an Exorcist. Not just any Exorcist either, but Allen Walker – the pupil of Cross Marian, one of the most infamous Exorcists of all time. However, as he watched the boy talk to several villagers, Tyki felt a wave of fondness wash over him. Yes, it was crazy choosing this small boy over what he was supposed to consider as family, but the Noah of Pleasure couldn’t help himself. He met this boy first before his Noah awakened and even before Cyril tried to get on his back into becoming a Duke.
It was as though he was drawn to the lad. Not that he’ll ever admit it of course.
Tyki snapped out of his thoughts when he noticed Allen walking back over to where the Noah was standing under a tree.
“Well, lad, how did things go?” Tyki asked in a drawl manner as he took a drag of his cigarette.
Allen glanced up at him before leaning against the tree next to his supposed-to-be enemy.
He answered, “Just as you thought, Tyki. There was Innocence here, but apparently, someone else already collected it.”
Tyki just nodded and stared at the Cathedral with its many mosaic glasses that formed a star. “Was it them?”
The Noah didn’t have to look at Allen to know that the young boy had stiffened at the mention of them. Exorcists. The boy was on his way to the Black Order until running into Tyki in Portugal. The Noah had offered an alliance; one to take down the Earl together. Of course, by forming an alliance with his enemy is considered as betrayal, Allen had agreed and since then, the two of them became inseparable. Allen never ended up joining the Order just as Tyki didn’t go and join the Earl. They made an unlikely pair, but they find that they were compatible with each other quite easily.
Even if it meant that they sometimes got on each other’s nerves.
“It was. But, I got a new lead on another Innocence,” Allen answered after a few minutes of silence.
Tyki resisted the urge to roll his eyes and continued to smoke his cigarette.
“Do tell, lad.”
“It’s in Germany, though. Apparently, there’s a town that’s been experiencing the same day over and over again since October.”
The Noah paused. For some reason, he didn’t get a good vibe about this news at all. He would usually get a thrill out of hunting down Innocence, but this time, Tyki had a feeling that if they went, they’d encounter someone he doesn’t want to see ever again. Of course, not that he would tell Allen about this. His problems are his own, and despite Tyki’s closeness with the boy, he wasn’t exactly fond of telling Allen.
Smirking, Tyki asked, “Well then, shall we go?”
“I’m surprised. You actually want to work this time?”
“Don’t misunderstand me, boy. I merely want to take a look at this Innocence. After all, it may be the thing that we’ve been searching for.”
Allen scoffed. “Right, whatever you say, Tyki.”
The Noah just grinned at his partner.
“Come now, lad. If you keep scowling like that, you’ll get wrinkles.” Then he paused as he grabbed a few strands of the boy’s hair. “Then again, with your hair the way it is, I won’t be surprised to see you become an old man at such a young age.”
Flushing, Allen batted Tyki’s hand away and glared at him. However, the Noah just smirked at the Exorcist with amusement written all over his face.
“I am not old! And I won’t get any wrinkles either!”
Snickering, Tyki dropped the cigarette to the ground and stepped on it as he began to walk away.
“Sure, lad, whatever you say. Just don’t come running to me when I’m right.”
Allen just glowered at Tyki before realizing that his friend was beginning to leave him behind. Quickly, he ran to catch up with the older man. When he caught up to him, Allen pouted at Tyki, but unfortunately for him, the Noah wisely looked away from him. He’s suffered under that pout before, and even got a first-hand experience to the boy’s “Black” side. Now, not many can frighten Tyki, but that “Black” side was enough to make Tyki swear never to experience that side ever again.
Instead, the Noah just smirked. “What did I tell you boy? You’re cuter when you’re not scowling or acting like a grump.”
Twitching, Allen aimed to punch Tyki in the head but the Noah phased through that; glad that it was the lad’s right hand and not his left. If it had been his left, Tyki was sure he’d be eating dirt right about now.
“I’m not cute either!”
“Denial’s not going to get you anywhere, lad,” Tyki drawled out with a bored look on his face.
“I’m not denying anything!”
“Oh, look. I think your nose grew a little bit longer.”
“I’m not lying either!”
“Amazing, it grew another inch longer. Tell me boy, do you think we should have you in a circus instead? I’m sure you’d be able to get us enough cash to last us a lifetime as long as your nose keeps growing.”
“TYKI!”
“Yes sweetheart?” Tyki snickered as he looked at Allen who looked just about ready to explode.
Allen felt his eye twitch at the nickname. “Stop teasing me.”
“Now, Allen,” the Noah purred as he stopped in front of Allen and caught a few strands of his hair, “you know that teasing you is the only way I can properly show my affections for you.”
“A-Affections?”
Tyki smirked. “Of course. Now shall we get a move on sweetheart or should I carry you?”
Allen batted Tyki away and glared at him. He said, “Don’t call me sweetheart. It’s disgusting.”
“Sure thing, sweetheart.”
Tyki snickered and walked away while ignoring the curses Allen was yelling at him.
“DAMN IT TYKI!! I AM NOT YOUR SWEETHEART!”
At that, the Noah paused and glanced at Allen over his shoulder. Allen stopped and blinked at him curiously. Tyki smirked.
He answered, “Keep telling yourself that, darling.”
